About the event

Family members and personnel working with military and families are often not aware of how to engage veterans with mental illnesses and addictions. In addition to the impact of military service on the veteran, each has a circle of family (significant other, children, parents, siblings, etc.) and friends who are also impacted by their military service. Mental Health First Aid is a valuable resource that can make a difference in the lives of the more than 22 million veterans, their families, and the communities they live in.

Please note that this is an 8-hour on-line training. Participant must attend entire day to obtain certification. Camera must be on at all times. Instructor will allow time for breaks. You must have a Zoom account and check zoom connection prior to training date. Participants will receive a Zoom invite the day before the training. If you do not receive an invite, please check your spam. If you do not receive an invite at least 15 before training is scheduled to start, please call (619) 543-0412 ext. 113, 114, or 121. After successfully completing the training, participants will be mailed a MHFA manual and a certification that is good for three years.
