Mental Health First Aid is a public education program introducing participants to the risk factors and warning signs of mental health conditions. It helps build an understanding of the impact of mental illnesses and provides an overview of common support strategies. This 8-hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial assistance during a mental health crisis and connect individuals to the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help resources. The program also covers risk factors and warning signs for conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and schizophrenia.
