About the event
Mental Health First Aid is a comprehensive public education program aimed at increasing awareness of mental health challenges. The program introduces participants to the risk factors and warning signs associated with mental health conditions, fosters an understanding of their impact, and provides an overview of available support systems. This 8-hour course utilizes role-playing and simulations to equip participants with the skills needed to provide initial assistance during a mental health crisis and connect individuals to appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help resources. The training also addresses common risk factors and warning signs for conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and schizophrenia.
