Mental Health First Aid is a public education program designed to introduce participants to the risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges, build understanding of their impact, and provide an overview of available supports. This 8-hour course incorporates role-playing and simulations to teach participants how to offer initial assistance during a mental health crisis and connect individuals to appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help resources. The program also covers common risk factors and warning signs for specific conditions, including anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and schizophrenia.
