About the event
Mental Health First Aid for Adults Working with Children and Youth is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
Please note that this is a In Person 2-day, 4-hr per day training. Certification is good for 3 years. Mental Health America of San Diego County is following the guidelines provided by the County of San Diego. This includes once you arrive to the training participants will be asked a series of questions, have their temperature checked at the front desk and all participants MUST wear a mask during the training. If you do not have one, we will provide you with one. If you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms, have been around someone who has the COVID or waiting for test results, we will encourage you to register to our Virtual training's or return to attend the in-person training 14 days from the initial training date.
