Public Awareness & Education

An organized, tested, externally focused effort to educate the general public regarding the relation between mental health and substance use issues to overall health. Through stigma reduction campaigns, MHASD promotes access to mental health services for those affected by mental illnesses and their families.
Leadership & Partnership
MHASD focuses on increasing collaborative efforts with community partners to address mental health disparities. We do this through effective communication and collaboration between the public and private mental health systems.
Advocacy
MHASD advocates for the integration and coordination of physical and behavioral health by focusing on decreasing fragmentation and increasing access to mental health services in San Diego to build a strong continuum of care.
